…probably not in the way Instagram or TikTok may promise
Pilates isn’t a weight-loss program. And a lot of “Pilates for weight loss” content right now skips the bigger picture and can be misleading.
Pilates supports the stuff that actually lasts:
• Better posture and alignment (posture is a huge factor in changing body shape)
• Core connection and breath so you’re using more of the strength you already have
• Better movement patterns that can help reduce pain and stiffness—allowing you to do more types of movement more often
• Strength and mobility that make daily movement feel easier so you want to do more of it
• Community and accountability that let you be part of something supportive and healthy
• A way to move that gives you an edge in your sport or your every day life
And yes—if you go from not moving much to taking regular Pilates classes, your body will likely change! But that’s a byproduct of moving better and more consistently—not a promise or a shortcut.
At Wabi-Sabi Pilates in North Boulder, we focus on strength, mobility, and learning how your body works. These are things that carry over into real life, and real life is always our focus.
Begin as you are. The rest tends to follow. 🧡🩵✨
